Les Indémodables

Les Indémodables means "the timeless ones", and the house was born behind a shop counter. Valérie Pulvérail runs a haute parfumerie in Annecy, Le Bistro de la Beauté, and kept hearing the same things from customers: too many brands that all smell alike, perfumes that don't last like they used to, and people who would happily pay more for something rare that actually makes them feel something.

Her answer was the olfactive wardrobe. You build it like a good wardrobe of clothes: start with the classics, made from the best fabric, cut so they never date. Together with perfumer Antoine Lie she went back to the great perfume families and dusted them off with overdoses of precious materials and unexpected pairings, without losing what made them classics in the first place.

The fabric comes from their own lab in Haute-Savoie, L'Atelier Français des Matières, run by Rémi Pulvérail after around twenty years sourcing ingredients for Givaudan. Many key materials are extracted in-house with ultrasound and carry a "Grand Cru" label: 5.5% rose absolute in Rose de Jamal, 10% real ambergris tincture in Ambre Suprême. And every scent lists its key ingredients, where they come from and at what percentage.
