City Rhythm St. John

St. John captures the true feeling of a tropical island – unlike the commercialised and touristy destinations. I was so inspired by the place in 2015 that it made me delve deeper into the creative process of perfumery. I took courses and gained insights from experienced artisanal and independent perfumers to focus on the tropical branch of perfumery. It was no easy task, but it was worth it. Around the same time I started the courses, my father passed away and I lost interest. The following night I dreamed that my father’s hand reached through the window where my perfume materials were and he pointed to the bottle of quince. When I woke up the next morning, I added the quince to the formula – it was the missing link I needed to continue creating this scent.

My goal from start to finish was to create a perfume that transports you to an island paradise – and I never let go of that goal. The feeling of standing barefoot on warm soil and taking a bite of sun-ripened fruit straight from the tree filled my heart with precious memories of my late father and felt like home to me. The fruity, tropical breezes are captured in each bottle for you to enjoy. The vision is mine – but the journey is yours.
