I have all these memories of you.
I no longer know my own memories...
I'm trying to teach them back.
I'm trying to understand you.
Past, present & future.
You can lie to anyone – but not to yourself.
Today I remembered hypocrisy.
They sell us love, faith, forgiveness, blessings, distraction, dreams.
They sell everything if we are ready to buy it.
If it's hard to tell who "they" are,
Could it be because of us...
Everything we ever wanted was everything.
White-collar promises that the children follow,
a better tomorrow.
Only if you work for it.
For every single morning.
And I, waiting in the cold,
snow on the face, rye in the pocket,
hoping for answers from another time.
Society remains dying.
And we've killed it.
How should we console ourselves,
the murderers of all murderers?
I have all these memories of you.
I no longer know my own memories...
I'm trying to teach them back.
I'm trying to understand you.
Past, present & future.
You can lie to anyone – but not to yourself.
