I have all these memories of you.
I no longer know my own memories...
I'm trying to teach them back.
I'm trying to understand you.
Past, present & future.
You can lie to anyone – but not to yourself.
Today I remembered my mother and her sweater.
I remember eating a small lemon pie on my very first flight.
They took me to an amusement park when I was five,
and I smeared it all over myself.
Now lilac bushes knock on the window, just like back then.
The rooms seemed so big back then,
and life so colorful.
The sheets smelled so peaceful.
It was spring,
and the garden by our hotel room was in full bloom.
I remember playing with my toys, staying inside...
It felt endless, unlike the rides in the amusement parks.
I remember the screams and their hugs.
Twenty years fly by, but I don't...
I have all these memories of you.
I no longer know my own memories...
I'm trying to teach them back.
I'm trying to understand you.
Past, present & future.
You can lie to anyone – but not to yourself.
