Most perfume is designed to be agreeable. Safe enough for anyone, memorable to no one. Walk into a department store and you'll find the same thirty names you've seen everywhere else.

We started NOTES because we were bored of that.

NOTES is a parfumerie in Aarhus built around one idea: that fragrance is worth taking seriously. Every brand on our shelf was chosen because it earns its place because the person behind it had something to say, because the ingredients are genuinely interesting, because you won't find it at the airport.

We carry niche and independent houses from across Europe and beyond. Some are well known in fragrance circles. Some are almost impossible to find anywhere else in Denmark. All of them are here for a reason.

No mainstream.

If you already know what you like and want more of it or if you're just starting to realise that what you've been wearing isn't quite right this is the place to explore.
